Hi, thanks for stopping by!
Spoonful of Art serves you as a website with news, background info and all sorts of nice-to-know-things about art in Amsterdam.
A little bit about myself: My name is Jolene den Boer, Amsterdam-based Dutchie, and art historian. As a Bachelor of Arts, I graduated from the University of Amsterdam.
Ever since I can remember, I was an avid collector of all kinds of things concerning art. Images, articles, books, and (guilty pleasure) those magnets at gift shops. On this blog I will be presenting you with a selection of my love for art.
Serving you big art in small bites
As the subtitle of the website suggests, I share art-related subjects in an understandable and entertaining way. The focus points of Spoonful of Art are Dutch artists, designers, and museums. So if you are interested what is going on in the art scene of the Netherlands: this is the place to be.
My posts can be about a specific artist, artwork, period, style or subject matter. But they can also discuss a certain exhibition I have visited or one I am particularly looking forward to. In addition, you can visit Spoonful of Art if you are looking for art presents. Or if you want to make your house artier, I also have some advice for you.
I also work as an editor, providing art historical and cultural content for magazines and websites, such as Hello Amsterdam, Amsterdam Mamas, Wanderwall, by Celine and companies such as Booking.com.
As a copywriter, I also help companies and people to improve the writing on their website, (personal) blog, magazine, profile page, webshop and more.
Occasionally, I host talks about art and culture. Like my Dutch Discoveries talks, written for expats in Amsterdam. Or The life of Christ through art, which is a perfect talk for you and your friends to find out more about art history during one of the christian holidays. If you are interested, please check Art & Culture Talks to find out when the next one is held. Or drop me a line for a special request, I am always happy to create custom-made talks.
If you wish to contact me about collaborations or creating specific content, you can mail me at email@example.com.
